Pressing the power button and getting no response is alarming. Before concluding that your phone is dead, know that Pro-Logic Technologies recovers the vast majority of phones that "won't turn on" — because in most cases, the phone is repairable.

Diagnosing a Phone That Won't Power On

A phone that will not turn on falls into several categories, each with different solutions:

  • Completely discharged battery — the phone ran flat and has been off long enough that it needs several minutes of charging before it will respond to the power button.
  • Dead battery — the battery has failed entirely and cannot accept any charge, leaving the phone permanently off.
  • Screen fault — the phone is actually running but the display is not activating, creating the impression that it is off.
  • Corrupted firmware — a failed OS update or corrupted system partition can prevent the phone from completing boot.
  • Hardware fault — a damaged power button, failed PMIC, or short circuit on the motherboard prevents startup.

Step 1: Charge First

We place the phone on a known-good charger for 20–30 minutes before attempting anything else. A fully discharged battery will not respond immediately. After sufficient charge time, we attempt to power on. If this works, the issue was simply deep discharge.

Step 2: Battery Test and Replacement

We test battery voltage directly. A battery reading below 3.0V is typically too degraded to recover. Battery replacement often restores a phone that appeared completely dead.

Step 3: Display Test

We connect an external test screen to determine whether the phone is actually booting but not displaying. If it is, the repair path is a display replacement.

Step 4: Firmware Recovery

We attempt firmware flashing via computer to recover phones stuck due to corrupted OS. This is a powerful tool that revives many phones that failed during updates.

Step 5: Board Repair

Deep hardware faults — shorted components, power rail failures — are addressed through board-level diagnosis and micro-soldering.

Your phone is almost certainly not beyond repair. Bring it to Pro-Logic Technologies and let us find out.
